Privacy Policy

NOTETYPE is a private gratitude journal. Your journal pages stay on your own device. We do not read them, store them on our servers, or sell anything about you. This policy explains the little we do collect and why.

What stays on your device

Everything you write, draw, pick or upload in the journal (your words, doodles, stickers, photos, feelings, favorites, affirmation and sound choices) is saved in your browser’s storage on your own device. It is not sent to us. If you clear your browser data or lose your device, those pages are gone, and we cannot recover them.

What we collect

  • Your account. If you create an account, we keep your name, email address and password (stored scrambled, never readable by us).
  • Pages you choose to send. When you tap “Send this page”, we receive the page’s words, a picture of the page, your note, the occasion and the recipient’s email address, only so we can email it. We keep a short-lived count of how many pages you sent today to stop spam, and we do not keep a copy of the page after it is sent.
  • Messages you send us. If you email hello@notetype.com, we keep that conversation so we can help you.
  • Payments (when available). Payments will be handled by Stripe. We will see your name, email and plan, but never your full card number.
  • Basic website logs. Like most websites, our host records technical details such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

We use this information only to run NOTETYPE: to sign you in, send the pages you ask us to send, answer your messages, handle your subscription, and keep the site safe. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

People you send pages to

When you send a page, the recipient’s email address is used once to deliver it. We do not add them to any list or contact them again. Please only send pages to people who would be happy to receive them.

Services we rely on

  • Hostinger hosts the website and delivers our emails.
  • Google Fonts supplies the lettering on our pages, so your browser asks Google for those font files.
  • Stripe will process payments once subscriptions open.

Each of these handles information under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the site working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep things

We keep your account while it is open. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account information within 30 days, except what we must keep for tax or legal reasons (such as payment records).

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@notetype.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them. Your journal pages are already in your hands, on your device.

Children

NOTETYPE is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use secure connections (HTTPS) and keep our systems up to date. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password and keep your device locked.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app.
