Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and NOTETYPE (“NOTETYPE”, “we”, “us”) for using notetype.com and the NOTETYPE journal. By using NOTETYPE, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. What NOTETYPE is
NOTETYPE is a private journal for writing down what you are grateful for, decorating your pages with doodles and stickers, and sharing pages with people you care about. It is for personal, non-commercial use. It is not therapy or medical care, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old (or older, if your country requires it) to use NOTETYPE. If you create an account, you agree to give accurate information and to keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Your journal and your words
What you write is yours. Your pages are stored on your own device, not on our servers, so you are responsible for keeping that device and browser data safe. We cannot recover pages that are deleted or lost with a device.
When you send a page, you give us permission to process and deliver it to the person you chose. You confirm you have the right to share anything you add, including photos.
4. Sending pages to others
Send pages only to people you know and who would welcome them. Do not use NOTETYPE to send spam, harass anyone, or send anything hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or illegal. We limit how many pages can be sent each day, and we may suspend accounts that misuse sending.
5. Our art and content belong to NOTETYPE
The NOTETYPE name, logo, doodles, stickers, illustrations, sounds, affirmations, blog posts and blog images, and the design of the site and app are owned by NOTETYPE or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may use them inside NOTETYPE to make and share your own journal pages, and you may share a page you made with friends and family. You may not copy, download, extract, resell, print for sale, use in another product, or use to train AI, any of NOTETYPE’s art or content, on its own or in bulk, without our written permission.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Some features may require a paid plan. Prices are shown before you buy (currently $4 a month or $40 a year, with a 14-day free trial). Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Unless the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable for partial periods. If prices change, we will tell you before your next renewal. Founding member pricing, when offered, stays at the promised rate while your plan stays active.
7. Things you agree not to do
- Break or try to get around the site’s security or limits
- Copy or scrape the site, its art or its content
- Use NOTETYPE for anything illegal or to harm others
- Pretend to be someone else
8. Changes and ending
We may improve, change or stop parts of NOTETYPE. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can stop using NOTETYPE and ask us to delete your account at any time.
9. No guarantees
We work hard to keep NOTETYPE running well, but it is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that sent emails will always arrive.
10. Limit of responsibility
To the fullest extent the law allows, NOTETYPE is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, including lost journal pages or data. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you have not paid us anything.
11. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where NOTETYPE is based. If there is a dispute, we will first try to resolve it with you informally by email.
12. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the app. Continuing to use NOTETYPE after a change means you accept it.
